Poor design.
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I tried getting this cover on my unit Vista HCx three times...it took that many attempts to get the buttons and windows even close to lining up. The lowest button on the left side doesn't even show up in the window. When trying to get the unit out of the cover, I noticed the stick was being pulled way out of its socket, certainly leading to a button failure in the near future. I won't put this thing on my unit again. I won't even try it in the field.

not happy with this one
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
My garmin does not line up well in the case. It is always off center. since I often use the USB cable, it is a chore to take it the GPS out of the case all the time. The front side thumb button doesn't like coming out of that hole. I will probably end up getting a different case in the near future.

Good little case.
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This case is a good thing for an expensive GPS receiver. This is the only one that I have been able to find that covers the whole unit, including the screen and buttons. The windows are a little misplaced so that the buttons do not fall completely within the window, but they are still useable. It would be perfect if the included plastic clip thing was removable, but there is just enough room to slip a carabiner through the loop. The case will also make it hard to change the batteries or use the data cable. The unit will have to be removed from the case (which is quite an operation) to allow the cable to be plugged in or the back to be removed.

Protects casing but stitching doesn't last
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
The soft spongy material used is pretty good for protecting the casing as well as the screen. But if you're using the metal D-ring (like with a carabiner), the stitching will not last. It took me 3 day hikes through the Malaysian rainforest before it half-tore.

Now, I just use the casing for protection and put my carabiner through the velcro catch (which isn't designed very friendly, but the stitching there looks a fair bit tougher).

Excellent product for the $ and nicely designed
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I have the version that fits my Garmin etrex vista HCX. I use it on my mountain bike wrapping the velcor strap around the bar and clipping the carabiner clip on the brake cables. With this configuration I don't have to stop and pull it out of my pack to make sure I'm on track. At this point, I'm not sure on the projected durability otherwise it would have gotten 5 stars. I crashed once and it stayed completely intact. Nice, inexpensive product to protect my expensive GPS investment.

Works, but not always in the case right
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This does the job it is desgned for but the GPS seems to work its way around in the case so the controls are never in the right spot.

Good idea, poorly executed
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
This is the type of case Garmin should have made for their units, and if they did I suspect it would be well made. Unfortunately the Gilsson case is quite poorly made. After 5 months of moderate use the stitching holding the screen window started to come apart. Gilsson said this was normal wear and tear and would not honor their warranty (and didn't bother to send the case back to me). Also the hole around the click stick was starting to tear and the velcro loop was starting to get warn.
